How do i find out the name of the inmate who calls my wife through correctional billing services?

- Who cares, just get a new wife. Trust me, you don't want her. I can already tell how this is going to end.
- I would start by asking your wife. People usually don't call strangers, even if it is a prank call or something like that. IF she truly doesn't know and the calls are offensive, threatening or sexual in nature you can report it to the police. If they aren't, then there isn't much you can do other than change your phone number.
- Why don't you ask her? It's probably someone she knew before she met you ... maybe someone she met after she knew you.
- I'm not sure if this is across the board, but here inmates call a number unless the okay has been given. You might check to see if you can block your phone from recieving the calls. THEN evaluate your marriage.
- First, get in touch with the phone company that is being used to call in. Inmates have to call collect, and it will appear on the bill. Or, you can ask the phone company when they call in. Once you get in touch with that company, ask which jail / prison is calling in from Contact that jail or prison. Ask to speak with the Deputy Superintendent or Warden. Tell them what is going on. Every inmate has to provide a list of "approved phone contacts" (names / numbers) of who they can call. The jail can check their lists to see which inmates name/number your wife is listed under. Be patient, this could take up to a week to find out.
- Ask your wife. She is required to accept collect charges each time the person calls.
- Hello Dano. Although this is answered above me, I want to add something for your own thoughts. For any inmate to call someone, the person they are calling has to accept the call. The call starts out with a recording stating this is from a correctional facility and then the inmate will have a small section for his name. At that point, the person they are attempting to call can either hang up the phone or they accept the call, resulting in the bill you saw from the phone company. Yes, you can backtrack this through the investigator's office in the correctional facility. My main thought however is not centered on the inmate who is calling. That is actually irrelevant to the problem that it is your wife who is accepting these calls. It cannot happen by accident. There are too many checks and balances built into the phone call that tells the person being called this is from a jail/prison. What you ultimately do is entirely a personal decision and choice, but I would consider sitting down and having a calm and meaningful talk with the wife about who she is accepting calls from and why. There might be a good reason ( a relative that she doesn't want to advertise being locked up). At least at that point, you can make your own informed decision about what is going on. Best of luck and I do hope for the best for you in this.
